Gut health theory AND practice

Gut health theory AND practice

At the National Institute of Medical Herbalists Power of Plants Festival.

Details

Delve into the magical world of the gut and gut microbes and discover their multifaceted role in influencing human health. You will hear about some of the latest research in this fascinating area, as well as exploring the essentials of fermented foods, including their role in promoting health.

Join medical herbalists, Jo Webster and Sophia Goard (founders of The Peach) for an informative, entertaining, insightful and hands-on session. We will taste a selection of ferments, ranging from fermented veg to kvass, oxymels and water kefir. A rather special cake - whose ingredients include a mysterious fruit ferment - may also make an appearance.

You will make a delectable ferment of your own (that contains NO cabbage at all) to take home, demonstrating just how easy incorporating a fermenting practice into your life can be. We will see how, with plants generally, but with fermented veg. and fruit in particular, the intersection between food and medicine is a blurred one.

Join us to celebrate the incredible world of the gut and fermentation as part of the fabulous Power of Plants festival being run by The National Institute of Medical Herbalists
